Robbin is fully committed to the continued improvement of the environment, not just for our own employees, but of the construction industry as a whole. With premise sat directly on the banks of the Great River Avon, we take our environmental responsibility very seriously.
Partnerships with the Environmental Agency and such companies as the Building Safety Group, coupled with membership of both CHAS (Contractors Health & Safety Scheme) and the CITB (Construction Industry Training Board), ensure our training and management awareness are monitored, assessed and audited to ensure not only the safest possible working culture for everyone associated with the company but also the most environmentally aware.
The Steel Industry in general is a leader in recycling having historically recycled 99% of its waste to guarantee its new products remain “99% from recycled material”. Coupled with a change in drawing and procurement methods, waste has now been reduced to almost zero, ensuring stock levels remain economic at the mills and delivery weights, impacting the industrie’s carbon foot print, are at their lowest ever.
In addition Robbin continues to support paper recycling to both local recycling depots and also local schools for children’s artwork. Plastics, cardboard and glass are all locally recycled reducing our entire waste to that of a small domestic home.
New fleet vehicles and the promotion of car sharing have significantly improved and reduced fuel consumption whilst plans for solar panelling will hopefully lower our carbon foot print to “negligible” by 2015.
Robbin group is committed to providing and nurturing a Clean Environment for all.
